GREG SMITH

CEO & DIRECTOR

Greg Smith was President, CEO and a Director of Equinox Gold from September 1, 2022 until June 16, 2025. On June 17, 2025, upon completion of the merger with Calibre Mining, Greg passed the President title to Darren Hall and remains CEO and a Director of Equinox Gold. Previously, Greg served as President of Equinox Gold from March 2017 until June 2024. Greg has helped lead the company through five mergers and an asset acquisition, growing Equinox Gold from a single-asset developer to a diversified, Americas-focused gold producer. Prior to his role as CEO of JDL Gold, Mr. Smith was CEO and founder of Anthem United, and President and CEO of Esperanza Resources prior to its sale to Alamos Gold. He also served as CFO of Minefinders Corporation before its sale to Pan American Silver. Mr. Smith has held management positions at both Goldcorp and the mining division of KPMG LLP, and served as a director of Premier Royalty prior to its sale to Sandstorm Gold. He is currently Chair of Versamet Royalties and is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant.

DARREN HALL

PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Darren Hall has over 35 years of experience in the mining industry with a track record of increasing production, reducing costs, improving capital effectiveness, and promoting health, safety and business excellence. He was previously the President and Chief Executive Officer of Calibre Mining, which merged with Equinox Gold on June 17, 2025. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Kirkland Lake Gold, which acquired Newmarket Gold, where he also served as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Newmarket Gold, Darren worked for Newmont Mining Corporation, where he held roles of increasing responsibility throughout the organization for almost 30 years. Darren graduated with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Hons) from the Western Australia School of Mines in Kalgoorlie.

PETER HARDIE

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Peter Hardie has been the CFO of Equinox Gold since August 2016. Before joining Equinox Gold, Peter was the CFO of True Gold until it was acquired by Endeavour Mining in April 2016. Peter is a Chartered Professional Accountant with nearly 20 years of finance, accounting, business development, government negotiation, construction and operations experience. Before his time at True Gold, Peter spent 10 years at Nevsun Resources Ltd., where he progressed through various management positions and spent several years as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He was involved in financing, construction and mine start-up, operations, government negotiations, and led all areas of finance, including treasury systems and reporting.

SUSAN TOEWS

GENERAL COUNSEL

Susan Toews joined Equinox Gold as General Counsel in March 2018. Susan previously worked at New Gold Inc. from July 2008 as Vice President Legal Affairs, Corporate Secretary and as a consultant.  Before her years at New Gold, Susan was Corporate Secretary for Peak Gold Ltd., which merged with New Gold in 2008, and was General Counsel for EGX Canada Inc., an emerging stock exchange for real estate securities. Susan spent six years at the British Columbia Securities Commission as Senior Legal Counsel where she was involved in developing local and national rules on corporate governance practices and disclosure. Susan has almost 30 years of legal and business experience in a combination of in-house, regulatory and private practice roles as well as knowledge of mining in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Chile. As General Counsel for Equinox Gold, she is responsible for day-to-day legal advice and providing legal support for all areas, including mergers and acquisitions, natural resources, dispute resolution and legal and regulatory compliance. Susan is also a director of Bear Creek Mining Corporation. She has been a member of the Law Society of British Columbia since 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Bachelor of Laws.

RYAN KING

SVP CAPITAL MARKETS & STRATEGY

Ryan King has over 15 years of experience in increasingly senior capacities in capital markets in the resource sector. Most recently, Mr. King served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations at Calibre Mining, which merged with Equinox Gold on June 17, 2025. Ryan was previously responsible for leading the investor relations activities for Newmarket Gold as the company completed a $2 billion transformational merger with Kirkland Lake Gold. Before joining Newmarket Gold, he was involved in starting Terrane Metals, which owned the Mount Milligan Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia, Canada. From 2006 to 2010, Ryan was involved in financing, corporate development, and investor relations for Terrane Metals, as well as assisting with the company’s $800 million acquisition by Thompson Creek in 2010. He brings an established approach to business in the natural resource sector, with specific and targeted applications for delivering shareholder value in the mining industry. During his career, he has assisted in raising $350 million for previous companies. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada, and currently sits on the Board of Newcore Gold and Edgewater Exploration Ltd.

ROSS BEATY

CHAIR

Ross Beaty is the Chair of Equinox Gold’s Board of Directors. Mr. Beaty is a geologist and resource company entrepreneur with over 50 years of experience in the international minerals and renewable energy industries. He founded and is Chair Emeritus of Pan American Silver and since 1985 has successfully founded and divested a number of other public mineral resource companies. He is past President of the Silver Institute in Washington, DC, a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Mining, and a recipient of the Institute’s Past President’s Memorial Medal. In 2007, Mr. Beaty received the Association of Mineral Exploration of BC’s Colin Spence Award for excellence in global mineral exploration; in 2008, he received the Mining Person of the Year award from the Mining Association of BC and the 2008 Natural Resources & Energy Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Viola MacMillan Award by the Prospector and Developers Association of Canada and was selected as Mining Person of the Year for 2011 by Canada’s Northern Miner newspaper. In 2014, he received the CIM’s Vale Medal for Meritorious Contribution to Mining and in 2017 he was appointed to the Order of Canada for his business contributions to the mining sector and for his philanthropy aimed at preserving the environment. In 2018, Mr. Beaty was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in recognition of his significant contributions to the Canadian mining industry. In 2021, he was awarded the C.J. Westerman Memorial Award by Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia. Mr. Beaty holds an MSc in Mineral Exploration (with Distinction) from the Royal School of Mines, University of London, England, and an LLB (Law) and a BSc (Honours Geology) from the University of British Columbia.

LENARD BOGGIO

LEAD DIRECTOR

Len Boggio is the Board’s Independent Lead Director and is Chair of Equinox Gold’s Audit Committee. Mr. Boggio was a director of NewCastle Gold until it was acquired by Trek Mining in the merger that formed Equinox Gold. He was formerly a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) where he served for more than 30 years until his retirement in May 2012.  During that time he was Leader of the B.C. Mining Group of PwC, a senior member of PwC’s Global Mining Industry Practice and an auditor of Canadian, U.S. U.K., and other internationally listed mineral resource and energy clients.  Mr. Boggio is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (FCPA, FCA) and has served as president of the British Columbia Institute of Chartered Accountants and chairman of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2019 Mr. Boggio was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, recognizing Mr. Boggio’s sustained distinction in his career, community service and work within the CPA profession.

MARYSE BÉLANGER

DIRECTOR

Maryse Bélanger is Chair of Equinox Gold’s Environment, Social and Governance Committee and is a member of its Compensation and Nomination Committee. Ms. Bélanger has over 35 years of experience with senior gold companies globally, with proven strengths in operational excellence and efficiency, technical studies and services. She has provided oversight and project management support through some of the mining industry’s key strategic acquisitions. Ms. Bélanger was appointed Chair of Adventus Mining in March 2024. She was Chair of IAMGOLD from 2022-2023, successfully overcoming construction issues to advance the company’s flagship Côté Mine toward production and to reposition IAMGOLD as a mid-tier gold producer. From 2016 to 2020, Ms. Bélanger was President, COO and Director of Atlantic Gold, where she guided the company’s Touquoy Mine through construction to production, and the eventual acquisition of Atlantic Gold by St. Barbara for C$722 million. From 2014 to 2016, she served as CEO and Managing Director of Mirabela Nickel Ltd. where she is credited with the successful turnaround of the Santa Rita mine in Brazil during a period of extremely low metal prices. From 2011 to 2014, Ms. Bélanger was a senior executive with Goldcorp where she was ultimately appointed Senior Vice President, Technical Services. Prior to Goldcorp, Ms. Bélanger was Director, Technical Services for Kinross Gold Corporation for Brazil and Chile. Ms. Bélanger is an active Board Member of Equinox Gold, and Sherritt International and has served on the boards of Mirabela, True Gold, Newmarket Gold, Sigma Lithium, Plateau Energy Metals and Atlantic Gold. She was recognized twice by the Women in Mining UK “WIM (UK)” 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining Project as one the most inspirational Global Women in Mining. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, a graduate certificate in Geostatistics, ICD.D designation and she is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

TRUDY CURRAN

DIRECTOR

Trudy Curran is a member of Equinox Gold’s Audit Committee. Ms. Curran is a lawyer and retired businesswoman with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, strategy, governance, human resources and executive compensation across a range of industries, particularly oil and gas and mining. Ms. Curran previously served as an independent director of several resource companies and currently serves as an independent director of Baytex Energy Corp., Trican Well Services Limited and the Alberta Securities Commission. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Ms. Curran was recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada in 2012 and is also the recipient of the Governor General’s Bronze medal award for her academic, athletic and community achievements.

OMAYA ELGUINDI

Omaya Elguindi joined Equinox Gold’s on June 17, 2025, following completion of the merger with Calibre Mining. Ms. Elguindi has over 20 years of experience in the North American technology business sector. She has been a founder, senior executive, and director of numerous innovative companies that were successfully acquired, bringing a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives from her previous role as a director at Calibre Mining. Ms. Elguindi continues to advise investors on technology opportunities and is currently the co-founder, President, and CEO of Ekaria LLP, a company that manages the retail rewards program for American Express USA. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Newcore Gold Ltd.

DOUGLAS FORSTER

DIRECTOR

Mr. Forster has been involved in the mining industry and capital markets for over 35 years having acted as geologist, founder, director, senior executive and financier. Mr. Forster was appointed a director of Equinox Gold on June 17, 2025, upon completion of the merger with Calibre Mining. Mr. Forster was Founder, President & CEO of Newmarket Gold, which operated three gold mines in Australia with annual production of over 225,000 oz/year. Newmarket was acquired by Kirkland Lake Gold in a $1 billion transaction in 2016. Mr. Forster has extensive experience and a proven track record in mergers and acquisitions, public company management, mine operations, resource project development and equity and debt financing. For over three decades Mr. Forster has been creating wealth for North American and international investors through natural resource discovery, exploration, and operations. Mr. Forster holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in geological sciences from the University of British Columbia.

BLAYNE JOHNSON

DIRECTOR

Mr. Johnson brings over 38 years of experience in the investment community and currently serves as Chairman of Featherstone Capital. Featherstone Capital is a private investment firm whose founders and network have generated over $5 billion in shareholder value within the natural resource sector.

Mr. Johnson was appointed a director of Equinox Gold on June 17, 2025, following completion of the merger with Calibre Mining. Mr. Johnson has co-founded and helped lead numerous successful companies, including Calibre Mining, Newmarket Gold, and Terrane Metals. His extensive expertise spans capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and debt financing.

MARSHALL KOVAL

DIRECTOR

Marshall Koval is a member of Equinox Gold’s Environment, Social and Governance Committee. Mr. Koval is a mining executive with 42 years of corporate management, M&A, finance, mineral exploration, mine development and operations experience and has worked on mining projects in over 30 countries. He is currently President, CEO and a Director of Lumina Gold and was President & CEO of Anfield Gold until it was acquired by Trek Mining in December 2017 in the transaction to form Equinox Gold. He is also currently CEO and a Director of Luminex Resources and is a Director of Miedzi Copper. Previously, Mr. Koval was a partner in Lumina Capital and served as CEO and President of Northern Peru Copper, VP of Corporate Development for Lumina Copper, President of Pincock, Allen & Holt and held management positions with Golder Associates, BHP/Utah International, Inco, Meridian Minerals and Inspiration Consolidated Copper. Mr. Koval holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Missouri and is a registered professional geologist in North Carolina and Washington.

MIKE VINT

DIRECTOR

Mr. Vint is Associate Director of Mining with Endeavour Financial, a leading financial advisor in the natural resources sector providing advice in project financing, structured finance and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Vint brings to the Equinox Gold board extensive experience in mine operations and construction for precious and base metals as well as corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Vint has spent the majority of his career working in mining operations across the United States and Canada; he then transitioned to the Research department of CIBC World Markets covering the gold sector. Mr. Vint was a director of Calibre Mining, which merged with Equinox Gold on June 17, 2025, and of Newmarket Gold Inc. which was purchased for $1.0 billion by Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. Mr. Vint is a registered professional engineer in the Province of British Columbia and received his Mining Engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines.
